TOK Presentation/Mock Presentation
IB Learner Characteristic: Principled
The mock and final TOK presentations were quite similar, as the Mock was extremely good and we didn't have to change much from there. Attached here is the mock, as I don't have the final presentation available to attach it. I was very proud of our team for our TOK presentation, as we did an amazing job with it. Our UNAM grade was great, and our IB grade will probably be very good as well.
This presentation fits within the principled learner characteristic as our presentation was an example of excellent work in terms of objectivity and fairness. We analyzed our real-life scenario from every possible viewpoint out there, and we reached a conclusion that we thought was fair for every single study and piece of evidence that we found. We also thought that our analysis of the situation and the evidence was from a very objective standpoint, and this is why our presentation received such a good grade and why we felt so satisfied with it.
I believe that this presentation was a very challenging one simply because of the amount of information that needed to be in it. 10 minutes of speaking for each member of the team might not sound like too much, but finding enough information and conducting a thorough analysis of it was a very important challenge that arose within this project. Nevertheless, we pulled through it and obtained a huge amount of information as well as conducted a great analysis of our real life situation and the studies we used for each point of view.
I think that the TOK presentation will be of great help in the future, as it was basically my first formal presentation with such longevity and importance. Doing the TOK presentation has helped me practice my abilities in researching as well as in presenting, and I am sure this will serve me very well in my university and professional careers.
